Toronto Day 8

by Nick Vail on November 28, 2008

We got up early to hopefully catch the 9:10 ferry across Lake Huron (Luke is pissed off), by the time we got there the ferry was already full, so we had to wait 4 hours for the next ferry to arrive. After we got our ticket for the ferry, we parked in the line up and went across the street and ate an awesome breakfast.

After breakfast we visited the local trading post, and killed time at the rest of the tourist traps. Then we went and sat on some rocks by the lake waiting for the ferry to arrive.

So when the boat arrived we drove on then Luke and I checked out their lounge area with a Corona in hand and I was able to shoot a nice time laps of us departing from the island and mid way threw the sail the camera died before we docked. I intern missed a pretty cool photo of the docking at shore.

It was pretty cool to see how the front bow of the boat opened to let cars out of the hull. We then rushed to the car to get off the boat. Once we got off the boat we where on our way to meet John in Toronto, on another beautiful day.

Along the way threw we grabbed a meal, some where in Owen Sound along the Georgian Bay at some little seafood pub, which had some great calamari.

So we arrived into Toronto just as it was getting dark, I call John to get directions to his place. Just prior to when we arrived at John’s place some drunk had smashed his front door open and ran off. This occurrence made the directions to his place even more priceless.

He told us to meet him at the place by the hardware store were 3 guys are working on a door, Luke and I couldn’t get over it, such hilarious directions. So that night John served up some awesome appetizers, we had cherries, shrimp, salmon with cucumbers. All of which was very delicious, such a nice host.

After supper Luke and I took a bike ride around the city to check out the area. As we were biking threw the streets we where scouting out the location of Red Arrow bike shop which was owned by one of our friends from back home in Halifax (Shannen Leslie).

We didn’t end up finding the shop that night which wasn’t too surprising considering it was the middle of the night and we weren’t familiar with the streets of Toronto. So we made our way back to johns and got ready to start a new day.
